Liz Benjamin(Capitol Confidential) let's us know.......SEIU’s Loss Is State Dems’ Gain .......Lauren Corcoran, 1199’s Long Island political director has recently resigned from SEIU and is now working for the State Deomocratic Party....SEIU has endorsed O'Connell......"Don’t be surprised to see her working in the Nassau County headquarters of O’Connell’s Republican opponent, Craig Johnson, in the coming days. " Have you noticed how Spitzer and Company always seem to be one step ahead of the oppostion........and Liz gives us the bad news More Tax Woes Upstate "Folks across the Empire State have a right to complain about their property taxes, but those in Niagara County and Monroe County (the Rochester area) may fee especially put upon. The Center for Government Research notes that those counties have the first and second highest property tax burdens nationwide, when taxes are calculated as a percentage of a home’s value. They are 2.8 and 2.7 percent respectively
In fact, 9 of the nation’s top-10 highest tax rates are in upstate New York." Property taxes are out of control...I pay roughly $8,000 a year in taxes for my 2 bedroom co-op located in Nassau County......maybe 1,300 sq feet of living space...yikes!!!!! meanwhile Azi Paybarah(The Politicker) has his own spin on why SEIU is endorsing O'Connell 1199 and O'Connell .......big mistake to piss the big guy(Spitzer) off..............Azi thinks Bruno must be grimacing about Craig Johnson's Ad............and finally the New York Post thinks there is a QUIET FIGHT IN ALBANY
going on..between Spitzer and Silver over Hevesi's replacement.......The Post's thinking is wrong..there are elected officials that are honest and want to do the right thing for their constituents..to lump them all together as tainted and corrupt is totally ridiculous...Tom DiNapoli is an prime example...he has been called "Mr. Clean' by Newsday...Spitzer and Silver will eventually get together and come up with the "right" someone.in the meantime..Post....take a chill pill........andy
