Promises, Promises (Updated)

Suozzi is starting to have 2ND thoughts about not running again as County Executive........he wants to keep all his options open..........Liz Benjamin(Capitol Confidential) reports "The AP reports that Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi, who said during his failed gubernatorial campaign that he planned to get out of politics if he lost the race to Gov. Eliot Spitzer, is now considering a run for re-election in 2009. Perhaps this is why Suozzi has been such a team player recently, saying nice things about Spitzer and his hand-picked candidate in the 7th SD special election, Nassau County Legislator Craig Johnson." Liz may be on to something here.........."Suozzi told the AP’s Frank Eltman it was a mistake for him to say during the campaign that he would not seek another term as county executive, adding: “15 people have smacked me in the side of the head and said I shouldn’t say that.” Lately Suozzi has been hit alot in the head........everybody including his mailman told him to drop out of the govenor's race.......maybe something is starting to sink in with him.........and finally "UPDATE: A Democratic observer called in to say that what surprised him most about the AP story was not Suozzi’s flip-flop, but his endorsement of Assembylman Tom DiNapoli for state comptroller.
Suozzi defeated DiNapoli in a bitter 2001 Democratic primary for county executive in which almost the entire party establishment backed the assemblyman. DiNapoli subsequently backed Spitzer over Suozzi in the 2006 gubernatorial primary." HELLO!!!! If DiNapoli doesn't get the comptroller's job...there is a very strong possibility he will run for County Executive....and guess who will be supporting him if Suozzi decides to hang on to that spot??? .............andy
