A Very Quiet Wintry Afternoon
nothing much going on today.....locally there is going to be a special election to fill Senator Johnson's old nassau county legislative seat on 3/27........there was mention in the local press that another special election to replace Comptroller DiNapoli's old Assembly Seat would happen on the same day...both districts are practically in the same area..using the same schools..election boards etc...but so far..no Spitzer Proclamation to secure that date.....Suozzi was looking to save the County a few bucks by combining the elections....there is speculation that the rift between Silver and Spitzer may be the reason for the delay.........stay tuned........and Crains just came out with new poll results Silver impeding statehouse reform: poll ........hmmmmmmmm....I wonder how many of the businessmen interviewed are registered republicans?? ....remember that old tv ad ......"fall into the gap" well Closing LIRR gaps expected to cost $13M: MTA ...........for years the gaps have been there...the distance between the platform and the train...and nothing much was ever said..lately..it seems alot of folks are falling in/down...........with Spitzer as Governor...even the harshest critic is hopeful things will get rectified.....and believe me..they will..........andy
