Mike Bloomberg, an outspoken proponent of charter schools, wants to let it be known that he's firmly with Spitzer on this one. United Healthcare Workers East, two powerful groups opposing his budget." here is one of the questions......."How can it be that the same hospitals that claim poverty and demand billions of dollars in state subsidies can afford to sustain a $65 million ‘education’ fund, contribute $22.5 million into political campaigns since 1999, and spend $12.7 million on lobbying since 2003? Eliot Spitzer has signed his ninth executive order to bar certain prisoners from participating in temporary work release programs.
Those no longer eligible include offenders who have been convicted of any of the followin: terrorism, homicide, sex crimes and violent felonies committed with a weapon or resulting in serious injury or conspiracy to commit any of the above offenses. ‘’The last time I spoke I said today is a sad day.
