Governor Spitzer Vows to Shut Down State's Hospitals

"Governor Eliot Spitzer says he will move forward with a plan to shut down nine hospitals across New York State, including Bellevue Woman's Hospital in Niskayuna.
The Schenectady County hospital is slated to close because of recommendations made by the Berger Commission last November.
The Legislature passed the move to close and merge hospitals and nursing homes to save New York taxpayers money.
Spitzer supports the plan and vows the law will be enforced"
