monday rush hour
The Times Herald-Record starts off our day with Casino up, casino down, the game continues or another title could be The Monticello Raceway Blues....the feds are not happy this group is off the reservation........and Brendan Scott: Partners in crime-fighting .......a new crime fighting Dynamic Duo emerges in Albany.....AG Cuomo and DA Soares.........bringing truth and justice to Albany.......the Spitzer Way............The Gannett Journal News warns us New York under the gun to change selection of Supreme Court justices "Because political bosses controlled the conventions - hand-picking delegates, who then selected the judges the political parties wanted - judicial elections amounted to a fixed system, not open and fair to the public. New York is the only state in the country that uses a convention system." The problem here is....judicial candidates are not really allowed to campaign here in new york....they can run for office..but can't really debate etc......maybe that will all change with the upcoming changes......finally Fred LeBrun(Albany Times Union) shouts Put brakes on charter schools "To this day, there is little reliable data from neutral professionals as to whether the charter school experiment in this state is worth the pain. The exception, admittedly, is in New York City, where the schools apparently work well and more are desired." .............we shall see...........andy
