Capitol News 9

The bill has been tallied for Governor Eliot Spitzer's historic swearing-in on the Capitol steps, and it certainly didn't come cheap.
The inaugural celebration on New Year's Day cost Spitzer's campaign $1.5 million.
According to a filing with the state Board of Elections, the inaugural spending included $420,000 for production and technical costs, $165,000 for food and drink, and $155,000 for travel and transportation.
The inauguration of Governor Spitzer, Lieutenant Governor David Paterson and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo included a public swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the Capitol. A public reception was also held on the concourse of the Empire State Plaza.
Spitzer's first day in office was capped off at a concert featuring James Taylor and Natalie Merchant and hosted by comedian Jimmy Fallon.
