Two special elections set for legislative seats

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Special elections have been scheduled March 27 for two vacant seats in the state Assembly, Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced Monday. The elections are for the 16th Assembly District in Nassau County, filling the seat vacated by Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli who was chosen by lawmakers to be state comptroller, and for the 61st District on Staten Island where Assemblyman John Lavelle died.
